SYNOPSIS:
Seoul has been struck by a series of mean-spirited attacks targeting high school heartthrobs, with rocker Ye Sung and basketball player Han Geng among the victims. Word is the next victim will be at Neulparan High School, and the three most likely candidates are steely student body president Si Won, vain dance team leader Hee Chul, and judo team captain Kang In. Studious, bespectacled Ki Bum and breakdancing buddy Dong Hae decide to investigate. Rather than searching for the culprit, however, they're a lot more interested in finding the next target. Meanwhile, the three potential victims are also competing against each other for top pin-up boy status and the fame that comes with it.

REVIEW:
"...That sure is a crazy set-up and the movie did a good of job playing off that crazinesses. There probably should have been a disclaimer in the beginning of the film, stating something along the lines of “Warning! Humor is incredibly low-brow, brain damage may occur!”. Even with that low brow type of humor, I did find the movie to be absolutely hilarious at times. There were at least four or five laugh out loud funny moments in the film and one such moment took me by such surprise that I ended up slobbering all over myself. Oops.
I didn’t think I would ever say this about a Korean film, but my biggest complaint about “Attack on the Pin-up Boys” would be that the film was just too short. Only 81 minutes long, but feels even shorter because the final five minutes consists of a closing song & dance sequence. Furthermore, as good as the setup of the movie was, the film resolved itself way too easily. A simple “aha…it was you?” kind of moment revealed the entire mystery behind the poo thrower – somewhere around the hour mark into the film. I did have to wonder to myself if the filmmakers were short on money and maybe that’s why they concluded the film in such a brisk and simplistic manner.
With that stated, there are still a lot of positive things about “Attack on the Pin-up Boys”. The set-up is entirely unique and the film is able to successfully bring to light how absurd celebrity status can really be. The film also brings into play other current hot topics that younger people can relate to : social networks, internet and the desire for peer acceptance. “Attack on the Pin-up Boys” certainly won’t make you re-evaluate the meaning of life, but it will provide for at least an hour of laughs and intrigue. It’s just to bad the film resolved itself so quickly, otherwise “Attack on the Pin-up Boys” would have been one of the better cult films for this year. Oh well, you still have a darn funny movie…for at least an hour. "
