SYNOPSIS:
Jung-hee, a 21 year-old college student is a lover of dance. She is confused when her father comes back after a fifteen-year absence and finds it difficult to accept him. 25 year-old Keun-woo is a telephone mechanic who enjoys eavesdropping while at work. He gets to know a woman through eavesdropping and falls in love with her. However, he is quite lost as to how he should express his feelings for her. Thirty-year-old In-ho was already a married man when he enlisted in the army two years previous. He comes home on his last leave of absence from the service. He detects something has changed in his wife but does not know what.
The film is about these three young people whose lives are thrown into uncertainty. What will be waiting for them at the end of their journey through life?

" The way these character’s lives brushed past each was not always evident, but done in subtle ways. In the second story, when Keun-Woo was listening in on the conversation between the two lovers, he hears the man apologize to the women for not being able to talk longer with her at the motel. This was because a women in the next room at the motel, set her room on fire. Yes, that lady in the other room would have been Jung-Hee from the first story. In the third story, while In-Ho is riding a bus back to his hometown, there is a radio news program played in the background. The announcer gives a news brief on some of the prior night’s news worthy occurrences. One story was about a drunken man, in a karaoke bar, that was found badly beaten up. That guy would have been the person that Keun-Woo beat up in the second story.
The biggest problem I had with the movie would be that certain characters and events were really hard to follow. A lot of the more important scenes occurred off screen or in the past and we only learn about these instances when they are spoken about by the characters. This may have not been as big of an issue for the film’s native audience, because some of the confusion arouse from current events or cultural differences. Somethings that confused me: Jung-hee, evidently set fire to a motel room and was arrested. but who was with her in that motel room? In the second story, the guy that Keun-Woo followed to the karaoke bar, was it a random person he picked out or was it the guy that spoke on the telephone? The girl that In-Ho had an affair with in the third story, what exactly was her story? Also, a few scenes just felt too long with slow dialog.
Although Don’t Look Back contained some flaws that prevented the movie from being truly memorable, the character driven script, about the lives of three different people passing each other like trains on separate tracks, provided more than enough enjoyment to make the film worthwhile to view. I would bet that this film would be even better if watched for the second or third time. "
